Sony's "W-Series" HDTVs offer a terrific combination of performance and value — they're Sony's best flat-panel models without the premium "XBR" badge. The KDL-52W3000 features the highest screen resolution available — 1920 x 1080 pixels, or "1080p" — which is necessary if you want to see all the detail in all of your high-definition sources. On 50"-and-larger screens with "720p" resolution, we've seen the "screen door effect" limit how close you can sit, but it's not an issue for 1080p models.
